The BC Conservatives have unveiled their plan to combat what they've described as a "decade of nonstop tax raises" on British Columbians.
Leader Lorne Doerkson announced on Sunday that, if elected, his party would not bring in any new taxes — nor would they raise existing ones.
BC Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson vows to make the affordability crisis "a top priority" if elected:

"As premier, I will make the affordability crisis a top priority of our new government," Doerkson said during a press conference in Surrey, "and the first step in that plan to bring some stability to British Columbia, we will commit to not raise taxes on my watch."
He went on to suggest that, "the solution for so many problems for David Eby has been to raise taxes."
Since Eby became leader of the BC NDP, those in the lowest taxable income bracket have seen their rates go from 5.06% to 5.60%. Brackets are set until 2030, which the BC Conservatives said was akin to "a quiet tax hike that hits British Columbians every time their pay keeps up with inflation."
Doerkson also drew attention to the recently paused PST increase, which would have applied to professional services, and the even more recently promised 2% "empty condo tax" on developers who fail to sell a unit within one year.
"They're telling me everywhere I go, enough is enough," he added. "British Columbians are crying out for relief; my commitment — our commitment — is iron-clad."
