The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has gone public after a man who allegedly threatened people with an axe on Thursday night was released on bail.
“Police received reports that a man was threatening passersby, throwing cutlery toward a restaurant storefront, and smashing plates on the restaurant’s patio. Officers responded immediately and located the suspect within minutes. With assistance from the VPD Canine Unit, officers took the 29-year-old man into custody," reads the statement from VPD, noting that the suspect was released on bail after being treated at the hospital.
