Hullo Ferries preps for World Cup rush with new FIFA livery
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is expected to bring increased traffic to Vancouver — and not just on the roads.
The Lower Mainland's waterways will also see increased traffic as fans from the Island head over to take part in the festivities and tourists explore the wonders of British Columbia's coastal communities.
Among the providers preparing for the World Cup rush is Hullo Ferries, which shuttles foot passengers from downtown Nanaimo to downtown Vancouver. To get in the spirit, the company has decked out one of its two vessels in a limited edition livery.

The front of the ferry now sports the 2026 FIFA World Cup logo, complete with the prized trophy.

The side of the ship is also emblazoned with the symbol of the games, along with the phrase, "We are Vancouver."
A total of seven matches will be held at BC Place between June 13 and July 7. Hullo Ferries has increased service between the Island and the mainland for all but one of them.
The special schedule is in effect on June 13 when Australia takes on Turkey, June 18 for Canada vs. Qatar, June 21 for New Zealand vs. Egypt, June 24 for Canada vs. Switzerland, June 26 for Belgium vs. New Zealand, and July 2, Vancouver's only knockout round game.
