Eby's approval rating hits historic low as dissatisfaction grows among BC NDP voters
BC Premier David Eby's approval rating has hit a new low, according to freshly released numbers from the Angus Reid institute.
The poll showed that only 31% of British Columbians approve of the premier’s performance — down six points this quarter alone and 22 points from spring 2025.

Fully 61% disapprove of Eby — with 37% "strongly disapproving" — while only 5% "strongly approve" of the premier's performance.

Angus Reid cited recent controversies over court decisions and Indigenous title contributing to Eby’s slump, in addition to dissatisfaction on health care and affordability.
Even more troublingly for Eby, 41% of past BC NDP voters disapprove of his performance, perhaps leading to further speculation of a BC NDP leadership change before the next provincial election.

Eby ranks second to last in approval amongst Canadian premiers, only besting Ontario's Doug Ford.

Angus Reid surveyed 704 random British Columbians from their online survey group between May 7-11, with a margin of error of +/- 4%.
A poll release earlier in the week by Research Co. shows the BC NDP tied at 42%, with the BC Conservatives.
