A gathering of alleged "white nationalists" on the Tkʼemlúps te Secwépemc reserve has been condemned by provincial party leaders across the political spectrum.

BC Greens leader Emily Lowan, BC NDP leader David Eby, and BC Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson all expressed their outrage over the event, making it clear such activity has no place in British Columbia.

I am disgusted by the appearance of white nationalists on the Tkʼemlúps te Secwépemc reserve. This is happening just days before the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. I stand with Indigenous communities & all marginalized communities in the fight for a future free from racist intimidation.

"I am disgusted by the appearance of white nationalists on the Tkʼemlúps te Secwépemc reserve," Lowan said in a post on BlueSky. "This is happening just days before the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. I stand with Indigenous communities & all marginalized communities in the fight for a future free from racist intimidation."

Her sentiments were echoed by Eby, who called the rally "disgusting, dangerous and cowardly."

"It's very cleat that these people were trying to intimidate, trying to make people feel fearful," he said before hopping on a plane up to Prince Rupert. "The fact that they felt they had to wear masks and hide their identity, that they know the retribution would be severe and instant if they showed who they were."

Doerkson labelled the gathering "hateful and meant to intimidate."

"It has no place in British Columbia, and BC Conservatives condemn it completely," he added. "We stand with the people of Tk'emlúps, and we expect the RCMP to investigate fully."

The RCMP has since announced that they will be looking into the event, which appeared to be hosted by noted white nationalist group Second Sons Canada.

"White supremacy will not instill fear in generations of Survivors and Intergenerational Survivors who have already carried fear for far too long," Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Chief Rosanne Casimir said. "Our people know what it means to live with fear imposed upon us by others. Yet we also know the strength, resilience and courage of our Survivors, families, and community members. We have endured fear, and we will not be intimidated. We stand together, day after day and generation after generation, to ensure that this history is never repeated."
