The campaign to recall Vancouver Quilchena MLA and OneBC leader Dallas Brodie has failed.

According to ElectionsBC, proponents managed to gather 3,633 of the required 15,232 signatures.

"As the number of signatures returned does not meet the required threshold, Elections BC will not take further action on the petition," ElectionsBC said in a statement. "The recall proponent, MLA and advertising sponsors must file financial disclosure reports with the Chief Electoral Officer by August 17, 2026."

Of the 31 recall petitions issued since 1995, none have succeeded.

Brodie responded on X with a picture of a cake that read, "At least you tried."
