BREAKING: Liberals win North Vancouver-Capilano byelection, retain majority
Liberal Braeden Caley will be the next member of parliament for North Vancouver-Capilano.
The 39-year-old former deputy chief of staff to Prime Minister Mark Carney bested his closest competitor in the by-election — Conservative candidate Stephen Curran — by a two-to-one margin.
Carney's Liberals swept Monday's by-elections, winning in the Ontario riding of Beaches-East York and Chicoutimi-Le Fjord in Quebec as well. As a result, they have enough seats to retain a majority government.
