Donegal Wilson has announced that she will be joining the party formed by Peter Milobar and five fellow former BC Conservative MLAs.
The Boundary-Similkameen representative the new venture represented a "credible alternative to the NDP that British Columbians can choose in the next election, whenever that may be."
"When I left the BC Conservative caucus, I left because I could no longer support the leadership of Kerry-Lynne Findlay," Wilson wrote in a statement. "I said then that I was leaving a caucus, not my principles, and that has not changed."
She explained that while she "did not intend to join another party," Milobar's new crew represented "a group of people who are willing to put in the work and deliver on what British Columbians need in 2026."
"I am not interested in rebuilding an old, failed party," Wilson continued. "British Columbia has changed. We are working to understand what worked, be honest about what did not, and build for the British Columbia we want to have in the future.
She made it clear that her responsibility "remains first and foremost to the people of Boundary-Similkameen."

Wilson's move comes just days after MLA Teresa Wat joined the new party, which itself was formed on September 4.
