As tensions between Canada and the United States continue to escalate, the government of British Columbia has unveiled a creative attempt to highlight what those north of the 49th think of President Donald Trump's threats.
New road signs reminding Americans that Canada is strong and independent will be installed along the border with our neighbour to the south.

Two variations were revealed to the public at a rally-esque press conference in Victoria on Tuesday.
"Strong, proud and will NEVER be the 51st state. Sorry!" one reads.
The other includes some helpful info for American visitors, including "don't litter," "60MPH = 100KPH," and "Kindness =/= Weakness." In the bottom right corner is a crossed-out map of the lower 48 with the caption, "Never 51st State."
"They carry a message that reflects the spirit of this moment," red and black flannel-clad Premier David Eby said. "This is a uniquely Canadian message. It's confidence, good humour, and it's unmistakably clear: British Columbia is part of Canada, and Canada is not for sale."
He went on to criticize Trump as "clearly unhinged" over his recent social media posts taking aim at Canada.
