The BC Conservatives have a new leader. Kerry-Lynne Findlay narrowly defeated Caroline Elliott 51% to 49% on the fourth ballot, concluding a closely watched leadership race that featured five candidates.

The result marks a new chapter for the Official Opposition, with Findlay succeeding interim leader Trevor Halford, who took over after John Rustad's resignation in December. More than 1,000 party members gathered to watch the results as the race came down to the wire.
